NY State Health Insurance Exchange: CLARIFICATION!

Dear Parents,

As healthcare consumers, many of us have been experiencing confusion with the insurance products offered through the New York Health Insurance Exchange. As noted in a recent article, many physicians' offices are having a very difficult time verifying patients' insurance coverage, particularly when many patients do not yet have their insurance cards. The same difficulty often extends to verifying whether or not a particular physician is in a particular exchange network.

However, thanks to the administrative support that Allied Pediatrics (APNY) is able to provide to our office, we are now able to tell you which plans we currently accept and which we do not. This list may change periodically and we will do our best to keep you informed.

Feel free to call the office at 631-722-8880 to confirm or if you have any questions.

Our office is still required to verify your insurance coverage, so please remember to bring your card (if you have received it) to every office visit. In order to expedite the verification process, it would be very helpful to you and us to call our office BEFORE your next visit to give us your new insurance information so that we may attempt to verify coverage prior to the visit. Rest assured that if and when we receive payment from your insurance company we will return your "self-pay" monies.

Thank you for your understanding and patience during this very tumultuous transition period.
