Who will be my regular doctor?

You can schedule regular well visits with any physician you choose. Please let the staff know who you would like to see when you schedule. When your child is sick, rest assured that we will always fit him or her into the schedule, but these visits will be with any one of our available providers that day.

What about vaccines?

Vaccines play a very important part in the development of your child’s immune system. The providers of Peconic Pediatrics follow the American Academy of Pediatrics vaccine recommendations and feel strongly that vaccinations are a vital part of preventative health care.

What if my child needs a form filled out for school, camp, etc.?

When your child has an annual physical at Peconic Pediatrics, they will be given a New York State health appraisal that is good for one year, and can often be used for school, camp and more. If you are requesting any of these forms other than during your child’s annual physical, the fee ranges from $5 to $20. It will take 72 hours for Peconic Pediatrics to complete these forms.

What if I need a referral?

A 3-5 day period is requested to complete a referral and we kindly request advanced notice before your appointment. You can always request a referral easily through our secure Patient Portal.

Teaching and continued education is a life-long endeavor for us at Peconic Pediatrics. If your child is seen by a resident or medical student in the office please note he or she will also always be seen by one of our providers. Residents and medical students are the next generation of doctors and we pride ourselves on playing a role in the future of pediatric care.

While we value this experience, you are never required to see a resident or student.

What waiting room should my child wait in?

If you are in our offices for a well visit, please use the well waiting room. If your child is seeing us for a sick visit, please use the sick waiting room. This helps prevent the spread of germs and keeps everyone healthy in the long run.
